Mardiyah… and Tai Chi
Wow, speaking with Mardiyah has been an inspiration! We’d love you to hear her story and the wonderful benefits tai chi brought to her life and is now, as she describes; ‘her life’.
There are so many ‘gems’ about life, shared by Mardiyah… feel free to leave a comment.
We met Mardiyah when she became part of the Community online tai chi sessions after being invited by Fang (one of her mentors) to accompany her.
Mardiyah had known Fang through the Tai Chi of Australia Association and was grateful for the opportunity.
She trains and teaches with Fang at the Meridian Connection, as well as at the Moving Meditation School of Tai Chi and Chi Kung.
She has trained and learned from Dr Paul Lam Health Programs and experienced training under Grand Master Gary Khor, an icon who brought tai chi to Australia.
Mardiyah is grateful to all her mentors and gives credit Master Rosemary Palmer for the support given to her over the years.
Mardiyah has done voluntary work with the Arthritis Foundation, and she is an accredited instructor with the KWA, Kung Fu Wushu Association, and is also accredited to deliver the Arthritis and Osteoporosis Program and the Memory Program which she teaches at the Unley Community Centre.
She also runs classes at Reynella, Mitcham and Hallet Cove and a voluntary class – free for the community in the park at Trott Park, with Moving Meditation on Saturday mornings.
Join Mardiyah on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm for a beautiful warm and friendly session on the RTHB event calendar – zoom link.
